Witness

Yesterday around lunchtime I witnessed a homeless man attempt suicide. He jumped out in front of a car that was coming toward me in the other lane. She hit him hard enough to throw him up and over in the air. She was rather freaked out to say the least. I pulled over into the middle turn lane and dialed 911. A couple of other people had already called it in. They must have faster fingers than me. I started to go check him to see if I needed to start CPR or just tell him to be still, but a guy in scrubs beat me there. This happened in the hospital area, so there were numerous people in scrubs. I just started directing traffic around the area so everyone wouldn't be all backed up and late. When the police got there several other people who had stopped stated that the guy had tried jumping in front of them as well. That is why the police deemed it a suicide attempt. When I finally got back on my way about 30 minutes later, my hands were shaking and all I could think about was him up in the air right before he hit the ground. I could have gone my whole life without seeing that. I certainly don't ever want to see it again.

Retail Therapy

Well since today is known as Black Friday I decided to contribute to it. I spent $20k dollars today. Yep you read that right. 20 Large. What all did I get you might ask? I just bought one thing. I bought myself a 2006 GMC Envoy, black. I was tired of being stuck behind trucks and Suv's and not being able to see anything in front of me except the ass end of whatever vehicle happened to be in front of me. I also noticed that there was some rust starting to form around the back window of my little Nissan so it was time to trade it in. Sounds like a good enough excuse to me. Hey it's my debt, leave me alone!! :) I figure that since the ex-wifes car will be paid off in a few days I can afford something nice for myself. I just have to get the damn windows tinted! That annoys the crap out of me.

It rides much smoother than the little car, and it gets up to speed a hell of a lot quicker as well. Mud likes it also, but hey, she's only 10 and anything new is liked.

I'll have to take a picture tomorrow since it is already dark now.

Another pie

I baked another pecan pie last night. This time for the church social tonight. It looks very pretty. I reckon they will be eating it tonight. I had contemplated going car shopping today, but my bank can't get me a check in hand until Friday, so I may go car shopping then. I want a new GTO but I don't want to spend that much money cause I don't want that payment. I want, I want, I want. "Want in one hand, poop in the other. See which gets filled the fastest!" Thats what I was told when I was a kid. Maybe I need to rethink my life strategy.

Anyone got a quick and easy recipe for cooking turkey breast instead of a whole turkey? Cause Butterball damn sure don't have one on their website!

Baking

Ok, I had another baking episode today. Well not really an episode, but I made two Pumpkin Rolls. They turned out ok, at least they look nice, I'll have to wait to taste them since they are chilling in the fridge now getting set.

I made two cause on Monday we are having the Thanksgiving luncheon and I wanted to have one at the house as well. That and I didn't feel like wasting half a can of pumpkin. :)

Mud's room got a very thorough cleaning this morning. I took three bags of trash out of there. She wasn't real happy, but I gave her two weeks to do it herself.

Question, How do you lose 15 pounds at this time of year?

Time

Ever wonder what happened to time? Seems like whenever I turn around time has skipped a few hours and I lost them. Not enough time in the day to do everything. Not enough time to just sit back and relax. Not enough time to spend with your children. Not enough time for yourself.

Has life gotten so fast paced that we can no longer have enough time for anything? I wish I could go back to a time when everything was slower and you had enough time for everything. It would be nice to go back home and buy a place out in the country, then relax and spend time with the ones who matter the most.

I can't live without high speed internet anymore though...

Friday night

It's friday night and I am sitting at home with Mud. She's watching tv and I'm surfing the internet. Last night she asked her mom if she could spend the night with her. Surprise! She isn't. Her mom told her that she would think about it. I hope that when she pulls her head out of her ass, Mud still wants to see her.

I started on margaritas just after 1800 tonight, so I'm feeling pretty good right now. I need to put tequila on my shopping list.
