Halloween

I hope everyone had a great time this Halloween. I took Mud to the church sponsored festival on base. I started helping with the food and drinks and Mud played for awhile and then started helping with some of the smaller children at the games. She was such a good girl tonight and she only got a small handful of candy. I will have to get her some candy to make up for not going trick or treating. Course when I got home a made myself a margarita, and it wasn't a virgin by a loooonnnngggg ways!!

Tell your significant other that you love them and make then feel special sometime today. Make a nice day.

Recap

Today was much better than yesterday. With the time change I woke up at 0620. We had a combined service at church this morning at 0900 cause we had a big picnic afterward. Thats why I baked the cheesecake yesterday. My cheesecake was completely gone by the time I made it through the line. Not even a trace of the pan. Maybe one of those old ladies hijacked it and took it home. Oh well.

While we were at the picnic I noticed that Mud's shoes were looking mighty bad, so I decided that we would go shopping for shoes after the cable guy left and the grocery shopping had been done.

The cable guy finally showed up around 1415 and as I suspected had to replace the whole box. By 1445 we were on our way to get the groceries. When we finished that and had them put away me and Mud went shoe shopping.

She picked out some of the ugliest sneakers I have ever seen, and since it was buy one get one half off, she got them in two different colors. Yuck. Black with blue stripes, and white with brown stripes. Again, YUCK!! They made her happy though.

Since we were next door to Wally world I decided to see if they had any black nail polish to go with Mud's costume. They didn't, but they did have glow in the dark nail polish and lip gloss. Got a new lava lamp night light for Mud also.

She had a very nice day of retail therapy. She even told me thank you. Why does she have to grow up?

Make a nice day.

Costume

I got woken up this morning by the sound of ups beeping. Not the package delivery service, but the batteries that keep my computers from dropping dead when the power goes out. It was 0742 when I crawled my naked ass out of bed to pull on some pants and run downstairs to see if I could shut down all the computers before the ups gave out. I was just about to kill the first one when the power came back on. Great. I was up and coffee was ready so I decided I'd start my day.

Started checking my email and then moved on to surfing some porn. Got a little sidetracked looking at servers on ebay. Yeah I'm a geek, so what? Anyway, around 0830 or so the power goes out again. Great. I actually got all of the computers shut down before they killed the ups. Then I waited, and waited, and waited. Then Mud got up and wanted breakfast. She got cold cereal. She wanted oatmeal. It didn't happen. I ended up taking a shower and then we went out costume shopping for her. She ended up picking out a "Spider Countess" outfit, and a blond wig to go with it. I had to take her to buy some shoes to go with it also.

We got home finally and we had power so Mud tried to watch tv, but evidently the power outage broke the digital cable receiver, so it keeps trying and trying to start up but it has problems. All the stuff that I had recorded on the DVR is going to be gone also. Great.

Since she can't watch tv, Mud decided to play on her computer. Oops, it won't power on either. Just F*CK!NG lovely!! I ended up replacing her power supply with a spare I had in the garage.

And all of this after I formatted and reloaded my computer last night. What a crappy day! So I made a chocolate chip cheesecake tonight for a church picnic tomorrow.

Make a nice day.

Plans

**EDIT** For the ease of less confusion and typing I will from now on refer to my daughter as Mud. :)

When do most people start planning what they are going to do for the holidays? I am trying to figure out what I should do with Mud for Thanksgiving so I have been asking the ex-wife if she had any plans. She told me to go ahead and make any plans I want since she doesn't know what she is going to do from one day to the next. I'm afraid that I will make plans and then a day or two before she will come along and tell me she made other plans for Mud and ruin my plans. Granted I could tell her to go take a long walk off a short pier, but she hardly spends any time at all with Mud now. I know Mud is missing her, I have even told her that Mud is missing her. The ex stated that she would maybe pick her up for dinner, but she has not done anything about it. So I don't feel like I can be selfish and tell her that she can't spend time with Mud who does need some attention from her.

I am afraid that I am going to have to take Mud to get her first training bra. It is getting close to time and I have mentioned it to my ex, but she doesn't seem to be able to make time to do it. Guess that might have something to do with my not being able to find time to date. Or maybe my lack of social skills...

Run

You all know how much I detest running. It sucks. Plain and simple. I figure that since I am in the USAF the farthest I should have to run is the closest vehicle!

So what am I whining about this time? Well I voluntarily got up at 0530 (more like 0600) this morning to run in a memorial 5k with a friend. I'm not positive about the exact time, but it was 39:20 something when we finished. I tried to get her to pick up her pace since it felt like we were walking the whole way, but at least the whole distance was run and not walked. I wonder if there is a way to find out my exact time. Not that it is important, but curiosity reigns sometimes.

Questions

Will I ever find a woman who loves me as much as I love her? Do we have more than one soul mate in this world? Do we have a soul mate at all? Or is that just some pipedream someone came up with to make us all look hard for that perfect someone? If you find your soul mate, would you have to work at keeping them? If you have to work at it does that mean they aren't truly your soul mate? I need Cupid to come answer some damn questions!

News

Got a call from the ex-wife a little while ago. She has been debating ending her relationship with the piece of shit she cheated on me with. Evidently he has been cheating on her. Big surprise. When she called today, she told me that she would be moving in with him. I don't know what happened to her, but she used to be the smartest person I knew. Now she has no common sense whatsoever. I wonder if she just doesn't want to get a job, so she is mooching off whoever she can. She then told me that when his daughter moves out they will have a room for my daughter. I DON'T THINK SO!!!! She is not going to take my daughter into the house of that piece of shit! His daughter won't be moving out until she goes to college so that should be next July or August. Things can change quite a bit from now till then. I think I need to start the process for getting full custody. Maybe there will be an unfortunate accident. I can always hope. I guess I will have to beg the Lord for forgiveness again.

Coffee and watching the sunrise on the beach. Then breakfast afterwards. Possibly more depending on whether you keep your hands to yourself or not.

Learning

I learned something this evening. I learned that my daughter is still a child. I know she is only 10 years old, but she seems like she knows more than I did when I was her age. How did I manage to learn this tidbit of information? I told her that if she cleaned up I would take her out to dinner and then we would go to the bookstore afterwards. Well she was all over it. I asked where she wanted to eat at and she said somewhere close to the bookstore. So I thought a minute or two, running through my mind all the restaurants close to the bookstore. I remembered that there is an Outback sort of close to it so I asked if she wanted to eat there. She said no, that there is a Wendy's closer to the bookstore. Can you guess what I had for dinner? Yep that's right, a #6 combo meal...

Dating

Dating sucks. It really sucks when you are basically a single father with no one you trust to watch your child. I feel like I will turn into one of those old men who wear their pants up around their chest with knee high black socks and flip flops, who feeds the squirrels just so he'll have someone to talk to.

I know it won't be as bad as that, but since I am a shy person in real life I have no social skills to speak of really. Now I have to ask myself, am I hiding behind that? Probably so. I wake up in the middle of the night hoping that it has just been a bad dream and I can snuggle up and go back to sleep, but it isn't. Time to quit my pity party and go surf some porn.

Make a nice day.

Stolen Quiz

I stole this quiz from someone else's blog. I'm not a woman though so I had to do the manly thing and take out all that excess code that referred to women...

Ladies, tomatoes thrown at the computer monitor only mess up your desk!

Fun

Well the AF finally went and done it. We now have a uniform for PT. Starting 1 Oct 2006 we have to wear it for any organized PT session. Lovely. The shorts are a little too short, the shirts are a little too big or too small. BUT, they have these great reflective emblems on them so cars will have a target when we are running on the side of the road in the dark!

Time to get ready for work. Make a nice day!!
