Damn People!!

OK People listen up!!

When someone you know lives overseas, that means they are in a different time zone entirely, and I don't mean just an hour or two difference! Depending on where they live you can usually look at a globe and figure out close to what time it is there. After all there are only 24 time zones on this planet! No I am not counting those 30 minute time zones, those are just weird.

Why am I bitching? My best friend from high school called me at 0230 this morning. God knows I love the guy, but come on! He realized that I was in a different time zone when I answered the phone, "huh?" I know, I know, I am such an excellent speaker at that time of day.
He asked me what time it was here and I looked at the clock and told him it was 0230. He said he was sorry and that he would let me go back to sleep, he would call later.

I won't be here Saturday so I will call him Sunday after church. He is staying at his mom's house now so I guess I need to find out what is going on with his life. Last I knew he was married with 2 kids. I'm a bad friend, I haven't talked to him in almost 3 years.

Tell your Pookie you love them, send them flowers and Make a nice day!

Huh?!?

So yesterday morning at 0530 my phone rings. Who is calling me this fricking early in the morning? Turns out my ex is calling. Crap.

She has a computer problem. Then wtf are you calling me this early for? She can't get the wireless to work on the laptop. I asked a few questions. Then she got to the real reason she called me. "Can I crack a hotmail password?" Uh no. Are there ways to do it? Oh yeah, I just don't do it and I don't know how...

A few minutes later more information is thrown at me. Her husband is cheating on her. Again. I wanted to ask her what she thought about Karma being such a bitch. I am not that type of person though. She asked me where she should go when she leaves him, cause she already told him she was. I told her to call her mom and talk to her. She flat out refused and told me that I had better not say anything to her mom either. I don't pass on gossip or secrets. If someone wants someone else to know something then they will tell them. Not my business.

I figure she will go to her sisters place, but I worry about Mud. How is this going to affect her? Will my ex stay where she is until I get back to the states and pick up Mud and all her stuff? I feel so helpless over here when it comes to Mud. Maybe I can get my ex to take Mud to TG and give her somewhat of a stable environment before I get back.

I need TG to call and talk dirty to me. 54 days until she comes to visit me over here.

Tell your pookie that you love them and Make a nice day!

Cesme Boat Trip

I went on a day trip today to Cesme. We went out on a boat and had a pretty good time. The boat pulled out and they cranked the Turkish Techno music and the dance party started. Alcohol was not cheap. Lots of people drank alot. We stopped at three different coves. The first one I went ahead and jumped in the water from the second deck. I was sitting there contemplating if I wanted to do it or not. I was scared. What about it?!?! So anyway I finally got the nerve to step up on the rail and just jump. It was only about 20 feet but felt like forever as I was heading toward the water. I finally hit the water, went under flipped over and started for the surface when it hit me that I was swimming in ice water. It was COOOLLLLLDDDDD!!!!! It has been over 100 almost every day for the past 3 weeks and the water is still that cold. Something is wrong. Then I got a taste of it in my mouth. Anyone ever take a lick of a salt lick? I have been to the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Gulf of Mexico, the Persian Gulf, the North Sea, and none of them were this salty!

I could actually float.

Make a nice day!!

A Month?

Dang. It has been a month since my last post already. Time sure flies when you are having fun. I made it home and spent a wonderful 2 weeks with my family. Then I had to leave and come back here. That sucked. But here I am again, 162 days until I go home for good. Not that I am counting...

My trip home. TSA in the international terminal of Atlanta has to be the most idiotic of any that I have come across. You get off your international flight (which has usually been a long flight) and find your way to passport control/immigration, stand in line, finally make it to the counter, get your passport stamped. Then you go to a luggage carousel and pick up your luggage. Make your way to the customs area with your form that they give you on the airplane declaring you ain't got nothing. They take the form and say have a nice day without even glancing at you. You walk through a fricking maze and come to another area where you are required to put your luggage on an assembly belt because you can't carry it through the Atlanta terminal. Turn around and get in another line to go through security. The same security you go through to get into an airport. WTF??!! Ok. Think happy thoughts. You finally make it to the X-ray machine with your laptop in a bin, your shoes and belt in another bin, your carry on in yet another bin. You make it through the X-ray and the TSA woman says, "We got a problem" and they are looking at your carry on. Huh?!? What is the problem? You can only carry 3 ounces of liquids with you! Oh great. I had 3 bottles of ice wine that I bought in the duty free shop in Germany 12 hours ago. Ok, what are my options? 1. You can leave it here. "I don't think so. I'm not giving you freaks that much of a tip for screwing me!" 2. You can go back through security and see the airline counter to see if they will check it for you, put it in a bin, pray that it is still on the luggage carousel on the outside. So thats what I did. I was pissed by then. I didn't tell everyone to fuck off but I wanted to. I ended up having to go through the security thing again then making my way from the farthest terminal to the top of the escalator to see Gorgeous. Finally. Then we went to the luggage carousel and the only thing on it is my wine in a bin and my luggage.

Screw TSA at Atlanta. What a jacked up system.

And I have to go back through it again. AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!

Make a nice day.

Naples

First things first, Naples, Italy SUCKS!!! The "Family" has messed it up so bad that if I never go there again it will be too damn soon. There are trash piles everywhere and the people just walk or drive around them. They have nowhere to put it. It isn't like you see one small pile of trash on the street corner, no they have piles EVERYWHERE that are 20 feet long, 10 feet wide, and probably 6 to 8 feet high! The rich areas (where the Family lives) doesn't have any trash piled up. Course I didn't go knock on any doors and ask what they did with their trash. I much preferred Rome to Naples. Hell I prefer Izmir, Turkey to Naples!!! Izmir is cleaner! One of the German guys that was with me stated that he was going to kiss the ground when he got back to Izmir.

OK. Mini rant over. I can now say that I have eaten pizza in a little outdoor cafe, had Vermicelli all Carbonara, and a Limoncella shot on the seaside of Naples. Been there, done that, skipped the tshirt, ain't going back!

Oh and something I noticed when I was in the Munich airport terminal walking around waiting for my next flight, they have a sex shop in there. Dildo's, vibrators, oils, and lingerie all on display in the store windows.
No I did not go in. I looked at the displays as I walked past it to the bathrooms.

Make a nice day!

Packing

I am packing to leave again. I am going to Naples, Italy this time. Where they are having garbage issues. Evidently they no longer have anywhere to put it. The weather is heating up. Oh happy happy joy joy! At least I didn't have to catch the 5:05 am flight! My ride is picking me up at 1 pm today. Some of the other guys that are going caught a 6:15 am flight so they will already be there at the hotel drunk by the time I get there. I fly back to Izmir on Friday morning and get back in the afternoon. On the way there and back I get to go through Munich since I am flying on Lufthansa. I wanted to go on this route so that I can see part of my route that I will be taking home in 15 days. Seems like 6 months have absolutely flown by! Time to get back to packing.

Give your pookie a hug and a snuggle and make a nice day!!

P.S. I hope everyone remembered to call their Mother's yesterday!

Beauty

It seems odd to me that I noticed a very nice smell in the air a few days ago. Thought maybe honeysuckle but I haven't located it yet. Then yesterday on my walk home I noticed that there are blooming rose bushes almost everywhere! All different colors. All of them beautiful. I can smell them easily over the smell of the city. I hope they can stay blooming the rest of the time I am here.

Make a nice day!

Performance

I have been trying to do my annual performance report. It sucks that I can't get anything from my last duty station. They won't answer my emails. I had to eat a few TUMS because of this. Not to mention they changed the EPR form and this is my first one of this type. Just a lovely time. I will have to put my rater off until Monday I guess and do everything I can on it this weekend. I can't use anything from my previous station unless they send a letter of evaluation, and trying to get that 4 months after leaving is kind of hard. Hell trying to remember what I did 12 months ago at work is difficult. If I were still there I could go through my emails and jog my memory about stuff. Now I am just screwed I think. Too bad I can't tell them to just skip it this year.

Romania

Ok. I could definitely live here in Bucharest. I have told Gorgeous this already. She told me no. The reason she said no? The same reason I could live here. There are so many absolutely physically beautiful women. Do I know them on a personal level? Hell no! Do I want to? Hell no! They might speak and ruin all my fantasies! Besides I have Gorgeous now!

But I have been here a week and the people have all been nice. I don't want to go back to Turkey. It sucks there. Ok, maybe not sucks, but the women don't look like this. You see a blond in Turkey and you automatically think they are from somewhere else.

I will stop whining. I took pictures of the buildings, not the women. I'll post them when I get back. A lot of the buildings are leftover from the communist era. They are old and appear to be in bad condition, but the people are all happy. I think that is the main reason I could live here pretty easily. People are Happy.

Make a nice day!!

Packing

Well I'm packing my suitcase again. I have a ride coming to pick me up at 0330 in the morning and I am still sitting here at the computer, listening to the dryer run. When it finishes I can move the clothes from the washer over and start another load washing. All so I can have clean clothes on my trip. Where am I going this time? What is the big thing in the news right now concerning NATO? The NATO Summit in Bucharest. So that is where I am going. It sucks that I have to get up that early to catch a plane to get there that early in the day when I don't have to start work until Sunday. Hopefully I can get situated in the hotel and stuff. I don't even know if I am supposed to wear civilian clothes back and forth to the site. I feel like I am so unprepared. Time to move the laundry around.

Make a Nice Day.
